REUNION 2012
LZ SAN DIEGO 8-11 NOV

Dear Brothers, Sisters and Families,

We will gather in San Diego to once again remember and salute our service in the 187th AHC and honor those that did not return. I think that you will be overwhelmed with the huge military presence here, ships airplanes helicopters, Marines and Coast Guard are just part of the landscape of the San Diego; they are everywhere. There are lots or active duty and retirees throughout the region and they appreciate your service and are proud of your combat record. So please do not be concerned about the Beach Mentality, Hollywood reputation, Goofy Politics or earthquakes and fires. Instead, please plan to join us to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the end America’s combat operations in Vietnam.

Enjoy the company of your 187th Family while we visit the USS Midway Museum, participate in a rousing Veterans Day Parade, and salute our Lost Souls @ the beautiful Ft Rosecrans National Cemetery. Take time to enjoy our wonderful weather, pristine beaches, multi-cultural foods, world-famous zoo and other attractions. I am a native San Diegan and very proud of my hometown. But I am very proud of each of you, your service, your bravery and the sacrifices you and your families made when your Country needed you –AND YOU CHOSE TO SERVE!

Josie and I look forward to your visit, to standing beside you at each of our events, and to insuring you and your families have a wonderful experience @ LZ San Diego. The hotel link is open so can make your reservations. The final schedule of events and costs, are still being worked out but please know that your 187th Board has pledged financial support to the Reunion to help keep your cost of attending as low as possible. Please plan to join us and remember there are no DUMB QUESTIONS, only opportunities to clarify and make things better.

For those that are somewhat worried about costs of attending, we plan to run a Hospitality suite stocked with doughnuts and coffee, and sandwich makings throughout the day. Additionally, the hotel resturaunt offers a 10% discount to all seniors (55+) and the food is good. We will do our best to negotiate discounts with several nearby restaurants in honor of your service. Additionally, there is a Naval Exchange Gas Station and small exchange convenience store directly across the street from the Hotel.

We will Pop Smoke when you are inbound to the LZ,

Travel Safe- John and Josie Q
